Increasing recycling and generating energy from the City’s waste. Find out more about our plans to develop a Recycling and Energy Recovery Facility in Leeds.
The Recycling and Energy Recovery Facility is designed to remove recyclable waste from black bins and recover energy from what is left over. It will significantly reduce the amount of waste that is sent to landfill.
We propose to build our facility on the former wholesale market site off the East Leeds link road within the Cross Green Industrial Estate.Find out more here.
Our solution is to construct and operate a Recycling and Energy Recovery Facility with mechanical pre-sorting designed to remove recyclables before the combustion process. This technology is a safe and efficient way of treating residual black bin waste
