Tours of the state-of-the-art facility will enable visitors to see what happens to their waste and recycling once it has been collected.
This event is part of an annual nationwide series of “wonder“ open days being held by the UK’s leading recycling and waste management company Veolia Environmental Services, aiming to provide communities with a behind-the-scenes look at their local waste facilities.
Veolia’s contract manager in Windsor & Maidenhead, Jason Eldridge, said: “I look forward to welcoming everybody to our facility in Maidenhead. It is a great opportunity for people to see all the different processes that take place at the site and gain a greater understanding of what happens to their waste and recycling after they have it taken away. I hope everyone enjoys their day and finds their visit interesting and informative.”
At the Maidenhead Wonder Day, there will also be a Charity Car Wash, in aid of Thames Hospicecare. This will be the 3rd Charity Car Wash as part of Veolia Environmental Services’ Corporate Responsibility programme. So far the previous two events have raised £1,500 for Thames Hospicecare. The Car Wash will take place on both Saturday 22 September and also on Sunday 23 September. Veolia staff will be giving up their time on both days to wash cars for a good cause.
