Local residents and those from further afield are invited to visit the site from 10.00am – 3.00pm (last entry 2.00pm) on Saturday 14 July 2012 at Medway City Estate, Whitewall Road, Rochester ME2 4DZ.
This event is part of a nationwide series of “wonder” open days being held by Veolia, aiming to show residents what happens to their waste once it is collected.
The transfer station handles approximately 1,000 tonnes of recycling per week. Visitors can learn about the facility via a tour of the site.
Medway’s regional manager Vic Window said: “I look forward to welcoming everybody to Whitewall Road. We hope the day will attract great interest from local residents and I hope everyone enjoys their day out and finds their visit interesting and informative.”
People of all ages are most welcome, however parents attending with children under 16 are advised that they will need to accompany them at all times. There is no need to pre-book – just turn up on the day.
