In the picture Muswell Hill resident, Lorraine Haugh, of Dukes Avenue, receives her new bin from Veolia operative Donovan Leslie and Haringey's Cabinet Member for the Environment, Cllr Nilgun Canver.
Residents in Muswell Hill, Alexandra, Fortis Green, Highgate and parts of Crouch End, Hornsey, Woodside, Noel Park and Bounds Green will be receiving the new bins over the next couple of weeks.
The first phase of a borough-wide enhancement of the recycling collection service for street-based properties starts in early March.
Cllr Canver says: "These larger bins will make it easier for people to add more to their recycling waste without it spilling out into their gardens. I hope this encourages more recycling as we try to cut waste going to incineration and landfill."
The new service will extend to the rest of the borough over the course of the year.
