The SELCHP Community Fund, which was founded in 1994, has helped over 195 well deserving projects in and around the immediate area of the facility, located in Deptford. To date, donations are in excess of £250,000.
At the ceremony, five local community projects were given donations ranging from £1,500 to over £3,830.
Ilderton Primary School was awarded a contribution towards a Year 6 students school trip; Willow Dene Nursery received the latest donation of an ongoing funding arrangement; Northbrook Park Community Group had funding for purchasing a table tennis table as part of ongoing regeneration and Pitta Patta Day Nursery and Childeric Primary School were both awarded funding to buy garden and outdoors play equipment.
Graham Ross, general manager for SELCHP, said: “At SELCHP we are proud to continue to support well deserving projects in the local area. The local organisations and schools that receive funding make a positive difference in their local community. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage other local projects to apply.”
