Veolia Environmental Services in Merton

Merton

The London Borough of Merton has a population of over 195,000 in its 14.5 square miles.

The borough is much wider than it is long, with Colliers Wood, Wimbledon and Wimbledon Park the main areas in the top half and Raynes Park, Motspur Park, Morden and Mitcham comprising much of the bottom half.

Merton is probably most famous for the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, home of the Wimbledon tennis championships. Nearby is the expansive green area known as Wimbledon Common, made famous by cult British TV show The Wombles who, like Veolia Environmental Services, were committed recyclers!

Mitcham Common is another large open space in Merton, while a lot of the filming for ITV’s police drama The Bill takes place in the borough, as is the actual set of the show’s Sun Hill police station.

Veolia Environmental Services operates landscaping and grounds maintenance services to all parks, open spaces and grass verges in the borough and has helped the borough win a prestigious Green Flag Award for the Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Fields in Motspur Park.
