The recycling and waste services you choose for your business affect your carbon footprint, your compliance and your bottom line. We help our customers to manage their waste as a resource, through world-class, competitive services and the widest choice of solutions in the industry.
As part of this process we are further extending our commercial recycling infrastructure network with two new facilities to cater to your needs.
In Birmingham we will be opening a new Material Recovery Facility (MRF). The facility has been designed to support the West Midlands business community and surrounding areas with their green credentials, by offering a number of different recycling and recovery options.
Staff at the facility will be supplying advice on business legal compliance, and assist with pre-treatment and new legislation in regard to recycling and waste management services. Customers will be able to benefit from our mixed recycling service with our new facility accepting a wider range of recycled materials in a single container. By collecting your mixed recycling, we are diverting these items away from landfill, and lessening any landfill tax costs, which will only increase in the future.
The second commercial facility that will be opening in January 2012 will be based in the heart of Essex at Basildon. This has been built on an old transfer station that was left dormant for nine years, and it has been regenerated in to a MRF. Veolia invested £2m to renovate the site that has a capacity of 30,000 tonnes of waste. The new site will accept mixed recyclates from businesses in the surrounding areas and will also help save businesses money by increasing landfill diversion. In addition around 18 jobs will be created to run and manage the facility.
The local facilities will reduce haulage costs and minimise traffic on the UK road network.
As we grow our business throughout the UK we look forward to working with new and existing clients offering the best solutions for your commercial recycling needs.
