Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending Whizz-Kidz's inaugural ‘Celebrating Achievement Awards 2012’ which recognised and celebrated the remarkable achievement of Whizz-Kidz Ambassadors and volunteers.
Whizz-Kidz is a UK charity which gives disabled children and young people the opportunity to be independent. They aim to provide them with vital mobility equipment to help transform their young lives, as well as training and support to develop life skills. There are an estimated 70,000 disabled children in the UK who are waiting for the right wheelchair.
We have just started our relationship with Whizz-Kidz and will be looking to offer work placements for young wheelchair users in some of our many diverse roles we have at Veolia Environmental Services.
Further to this, with each of our 12,000 employees having the opportunity to spend half a day volunteering in their community, we will be encouraging our workforce to support the Whizz-Kidz Ambassador Clubs & Wheelchair Skills Training courses across the UK.
Whizz-Kidz is a great charity and we look forward to working with them.
