In June 2011 the team at our Pitsea landfill site hosted BBC2’s Springwatch where presenter, Liz Bonnin revealed that this unusual location is bursting with an array of wildlife.
In February 2011 our landfill sites at Pitsea, Essex and Croft Farm, Doncaster were awarded the Wildlife Trusts Biodiversity Benchmark.
Our on-going sponsorship of the Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition continues to reinforce our commitment to protecting and enhancing the environment, conserving natural resources and educating and inspiring people.
We hold an annual staff photography competition, which celebrates the natural environment we live in - the high standard of entries shows how the very best of nature is often on our doorsteps!
