Our partnership with BatteryBack is creating a nationwide network of battery collection points which is likely to number 13,000 by the end of 2010 and 30,000 by the end of 2012.
The BatteryBack network of collection points have benefits for everyone:
- Consumers can recycle batteries conveniently throughout the UK
- Battery retailers and civic amenity sites have a comprehensive free of charge battery collection service
- Schools, colleges and public buildings can demonstrate their green credentials by offering staff, visitors and pupils the chance to recycle batteries free of charge
- Businesses can also utilise this collection structure and avoid unnecessary costs
Ultimately the growing number of BatteryBack collection points will help the UK to meet our recycling targets (we need to increase our battery recycling from the current 2.8% to over 25% by 2012 and over 45% by 2016).
