High Temperature Incineration

Some wastes will always require specialist destruction and disposal.

High Temperature Incineration (HTI) offers a reliable, cost-effective solution for hazardous, non-hazardous, and low-level radioactive materials.

For wastes such as Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPS) or simply for confidential materials, only the highest levels of secure destruction are appropriate.

Our rotary kiln incinerator is not only the largest of its kind in the UK but is also the most technically advanced HTI facility in Europe.  It handles liquids (up to 10 tonnes per hour), gases (bulk and cylinders) and solids through a state of the art shredding, mixing and pumping system.

The safest option

HTI is a proven solution for the safe management of hazardous organic chemicals and materials that are unsuitable for treatment by other technologies.  It is widely regarded as the best practical environmental option (BPEO) for chemical and confidential wastes.

Secure disposal assured

The process heats materials to temperatures up to 1100°C, resulting in 99.99% destruction.  For hazardous by-products, redundant or obsolete items, laboratory waste and agents, contaminated electrical equipment and contaminated soils, it’s an ideal solution.

Total flexibility

We can receive and handle a wide range of materials and offer our clients safe and rapid transit, whatever the location.

Meeting environmental standards

The exceptionally high efficiency of this process is matched by outstanding environmental performance. We use the latest technology at every stage, and we’re supported by in-house Health and Safety, environmental and legislative experts.

Authorised by the Environment Agency under the Integrated Pollution Control (IPC) provisions of the 1990 Environmental Protection Act and certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, we operate within EA and IPC emissions limits. This includes the rigorous standards imposed by the Waste Incineration and Industrial Emissions Directives.
