Since February 2008, we have provided refuse and recycling collection services to the Borough’s residents.
In line with the requirements of the contract, we are also proposing to build, operate and maintain a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) to process the recyclable materials and a Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) plant to help deal with the Southwark’s non recyclable waste in an environmentally sustainable way. This will be built at Old Kent Road, where planning permission has been obtained for the site.
