On the 1st June 2009 Veolia Environmental Services was awarded a twenty-year Waste Management and Recycling Contract with a value of £640 million by the Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority (MRWA) on behalf of the Merseyside and Halton Waste Partnership.
Recycling Centres
Veolia Environmental Services operates 16 HWRCs in locations across Merseyside and Halton.
Transfer stations
Veolia Environmental Services operates four waste transfer stations in Merseyside.

Materials recovery
The MRF at Bidston is a facility at which mixed dry recyclable waste is extracted and sorted.
