Facilities

To manage the waste collected by your local council, we need to provide a range of facilities that will help us to increase recycling and reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill in Nottinghamshire.
  • Household waste recycling centres

  • Materials Recovery Facility

The MRF is where recyclable materials that are collected from Nottinghamshire households are sorted and baled before they are sent to reprocessors to be used to make new products.
  • Veolia waste transfer station
    Waste Transfer Stations

If waste collected from households across Nottinghamshire cannot be delivered to its end destination immediately it will be sent to a waste transfer station where it can be stored and assessed before it is sent on for disposal, treatment or recycling. We operate Waste Transfer Stations in Nottingham, Newark and Worksop.

In the future, we plan to:
Create a network of new transfer stations.
Provide a new composting facility in central Nottinghamshire and to utilise other existing composting sites, to handle a total of 100,000 tonnes of green waste per year.
Continue providing waste awareness and education initiatives across the County, in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council
