The sale is being held by Sheffield City Council and Veolia Environmental Services in partnership with local community group Action for Stannington (AfS). Compost bins will be available for the bargain price of £12 (RRP £39) and water butts (including a starter kit) for an amazing £21 (RRP £69)! 45 litre bags of locally produced compost will be on offer at £3 or 4 bags for £10.
Local community group, AfS carries out public awareness campaigns, inviting people to take positive action about issues such as recycling and littering. Organising local clean-up events and managing a Reuse Centre are just some of the ways in which AfS encourages residents to look after their local community. AfS will receive a contribution from every bin or butt sold to help them carry on their good work.
The one day sale will be held at Stannington Park Pavilion, Uppergate Road, 10am - 3pm. The sale items will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
Veolia’s composting experts will also be on hand to ‘dish the dirt’ on how easy it is to recycle garden and kitchen waste into nutritious compost which has endless benefits for plants and soil.
