Bulky waste collection service
A bulky waste collection can be arranged for certain items from your property. This is a good option for large items that you can't take to the HWRC. Please note that charges may apply.
We have three categories for the removal of bulky items:
1. Council Tenants
There is no charge for the removal of items of a domestic nature only.
Service costs are included in the tenant's rent payment.
Collection is within 7 working days (for a maximum of 10 items).
Please note that from Monday 2nd April 2012, council tenants are limited to one free bulky item collection in any twelve month period. Additional collections will be charged at the same rate as Private Tenants and Householders.
2. Private Tenants and Householders
There is a £39.36 flat rate for items of a domestic nature only. For tenants on income support, housing benefit, pension credit or job seekers allowance, there is a charge of £15.00.
Fridges can be collected for a rate of £18 for private householders and people renting from private landlords. For those on qualifying benefits there is a rate of £15. Fridges can be included within the 10 items collected as part of the bulky collection.
Collection is within 7 working days (for a maximum of 10 items).
3. Council Tenants, Private Tenants and Private Householders
There is a chargeable service for the removal of items of a non-domestic nature (fixtures & fittings inc baths). This is a MINIMUM charge of £39.36 and may require a Manager to visit and provide an estimate of charges.
Collection within 7 working days.
(The only type of bath that we can't take (unless it is broken up) is a cast iron one).
