Your blue bin and box
If you are a student living in a house in Sheffield you will have a blue bin for recycling your glass bottles and jars, can and plastic bottles and a blue box for recycling paper and cardboard.
Your blue bin and box are collected on the same day every two weeks.

Please put your blue box and your blue bin out by 7am on your collection day and put them away by 9am the following day
You may be fined £100 if you do not remove your bin/box from the pavement by 9am on the next day after your collection.
Don't loose your waterproof hat! Please make sure it is tied to one of the handles of the blue box as shown below

Your black bin
Your black bin is for rubbish that can’t be recycled.
Your black bin is collected on the same day every week.
To view your collection dates use our post code search.
Please put your black bin at the kerbside by 7am on the day of collection. If you don’t want to get up that early, you may put your bin at the kerbside after 6pm on the day before collection.
You may be fined £100 if you do not remove your bin from the pavement by 9am on the day after your collection.

Recycling sites
You can use recycling sites to recycle items that can not be recycled in the blue bin or box such as foil, textiles and other plastics.

Household Waste Recycling Centres
If you have access to transport you can take large items such as televisions and furniture to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.
