Our dedicated Waste Awareness Team visit schools and young people groups across the city delivering a variety of programmes, to people of all ages and abilities, from one off presentations and workshops to a series of interactive sessions. The emphasis for the waste awareness sessions and workshops is "hands on" and "fun" but the outcome of the sessions is to change perceptions of waste and promote action to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Choose from a variety of sessions to suit the requirements of your school, class or group.
Here are just a few of the activities on offer:
- Primary schools - Interactive workshops, crafts and games to explore the world of waste: Create a recycling centre; do a class room waste audit; visit our Household Waste Recycling Centres.
- Secondary schools - Waste audits, mini recycling projects, classroom presentations, interactive group work and discussion groups exploring various aspects of waste and recycling.
- Young people groups - Information and discussions about waste and recycling at a general or local level. Scouts, Brownies and other children's activity groups can take our interactive waste challenge as well as other activities and games.
