A new fleet of ten Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles operated in partnership with Sheffield City Council is reducing emissions and improving the carbon footprint of the recycling collection services across the city.

Energy Recovery Facility

The Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) in Sheffield, generates electricity for the National Grid and heat for the city's award winning District Energy Network from the rubbish you and your family put in your black wheeled bin.
Materials Recovery Facility
The paper and card collected from the blue bin kerbside collection service in Sheffield is taken to Veolia Environmental Services Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) to be sorted and graded before it is sent on to be recycled.
