Household waste recycling centres
Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) offer collection points for recyclable materials across Shropshire. They offer recycling facilities for a much wider range of materials than can be collected at the kerbside.
Kerbside collections
Each household in Shropshire receives a calendar detailing the dates that their compostable waste and recycling and their residual waste will be collected. Residents in most parts of Shropshire have their recyclable waste and their residual waste collected on alternate weeks.
Composting
Residents across the County can recycle their compostable garden waste from the kerbside from wheelie bins that are collected fortnightly. This compostable waste is taken to a composting facility where it is recycled to make high-quality compost.
Energy from waste
Veolia ES Shropshire Limited submitted (in February 2009) a planning application to Shropshire County Council (now Shropshire Council) to build an Energy from Waste facility on a site adjacent to the existing Household Recycling Centre and Transfer Station at Battlefield Enterprise Park, Vanguard Way, Shrewsbury.
