Southwark School dinners get recycled
Southwark Council’s recycling and waste partner Veolia are embarking on a mission to get as many Southwark schools as possible, to recycle their food waste. This productive scheme will help the environment by ensuring that food waste is not landfilled and can also save schools money in disposal costs.

Local council receives funding boost for communal estate recycling project
Southwark Council has been awarded £36,000 by LWARB (London Waste and Recycling Board) to increase recycling awareness on housing estates that have a communal recycling bin collection only. Working alongside their recycling and waste partner Veolia, a project has been devised to increase residents’ knowledge about what materials can be recycled, along with the benefits of recycling.

Mobile Recycling Centre springs up in time for clear-outs
Southwark’s Mobile Recycling Centre has started a new collection circuit so that it visits the busiest places in the borough and enables residents to recycle more easily. With spring fast approaching the Mobile Recycling Centre will benefit all those residents planning to have a spring clear-out and wanting an easy way to get rid of recyclable items that can’t be placed with their normal household collection.
Pro-Grow is a fine grade, peat free soil conditioner, made from green garden material generated by households. It's back in stock at just £3 per bag, three for £8 or four for £10.
