We strive to deliver high quality services that help to reduce the impact that Southwark’s waste has on the environment. We are also committed to supporting and working with the local community towards a greener future for the borough.

    The thirteenth annual international Compost Awareness Week takes place from Monday 6 to Sunday 12 May 2013. Veolia Environmental Services, the recycling and waste partner of Southwark Council, is getting its residents involved by promoting the environmental benefits of home composting.
  • 18 April 2013 Community Repaint in Southwark marks its third year
    Southwark’s Community RePaint scheme celebrates its third birthday this week after diverting 25 tonnes of paint away from landfill since it began in 2011. This effective reuse scheme enables residents to offload their unwanted paint so that it can brighten the lives of other residents in the borough.
  • 08 April 2013 Southwark EnviroGrant deadline extended
    The Southwark EnviroGrant scheme has extended the deadline for applications to Friday 30 April 2013. The EnviroGrant scheme, which has been established by Veolia Environmental Services, the recycling and waste partners of Southwark Council, is offering funding and support to community groups wanting to enrich their local area.
