Whether you use a blue bin or box, a clear bag or a communal bin to recycle in Southwark. Please make sure you are including all of the materials shown below.

The following materials are commonly included by mistake and may mean that we cannot recycle the contents of your bin, box or bag. Please make sure that these items are not included:

If you have a brown bin you can recycle all of your food and garden waste. You may also be interested in composting your waste at home using a compost bin or wormery.

Recycle Week Top Tips
If you want to get involved in Recycle Week, there are lots of things you can do at home. Check out our list of top tips!
- Perhaps you’ve already got an extra bin in your kitchen to collect all that lovely recycling waste! But what about the bathroom? All those plastic bottles for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel sometimes get forgotten.
- Make some space by clearing out any old appliances that are hanging around the house. You can make use of our Mobile Recycling Centre or the new WEEE banks located around the borough.
- Power up for battery recycling! Batteries can be easily recycled so keep an eye out for collection points in shops, workplaces, schools and libraries. Buy rechargeable batteries that you can use again and again – saving money!
