Veolia
ES Birmingham Limited takes corporate and social
responsibility seriously and is involved with a
number of local organisations to help improve community
facilities and foster good relationships.
Employment within the business is currently around
170 and has grown significantly over the last few
years as we increase the amount of recycling services
offered to Birmingham City Council.
Visits and tours of the ERF are a regular occurrence
for local interest groups, technical, educational
and political groups. Due to the nature of the site,
tours for under 16’s are not permitted, but
the link below provides resources for school-age
students to learn about recycling and waste and
resource management, with educational activities
that are sponsored by Veolia. To enquire about tours,

Integrated
Waste Management
In the UK, we are producing ever-increasing volumes
of waste. How we deal with it is the subject of
increasing environmental debate. Veolia Environmental
Services works with Local Authorities in the UK,
providing waste management solutions tailored to
the requirements of the local community.
Veolia Environmental Services is working to raise
awareness of waste and the ways in which we manage
it. We encourage the public to take responsibility
for the waste they produce, and actively promote
the waste hierarchy of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Eco-Star.com has been developed as an educational
resource, supporting the principles of integrated
waste management in a way children can enjoy and
understand. Based around a virtual community, all
the games are backed up with Did You Know? trivia
and quizzes, together with teachers' notes and ideas
for lesson plans with cross-curricular links.
