In 1995, Veolia Environmental Services won a 28-year contract with Hampshire County Council for the management of all municipal waste. The partnership between Hampshire County Council, and the 13 Local and Unitary Authorities, and Veolia Environmental Services is known as Project Integra. Since the start of the contract over a decade ago, the infrastructure has been completed, and the original targets met and exceeded. Veolia Environmental Services is the main contractor for Project Integra.
The kerbside collections schemes are delivered to the Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs).
The household waste that used to go to landfill in Hampshire is now sent for energy recovery.
Paper, plastic bottles and cans are not the only things we recycle in Hampshire.
The Hampshire waste strategy is the most progressive integrated waste management system in Britain.

Veolia Welcomes Residents To Basingstoke Open Day
Residents in Chineham and neighbouring areas of Basingstoke are invited to take a look behind the scenes at the Chineham Energy Recovery Facility on Saturday 20 July. Veolia Environmental Services, operators of the site, will be holding the special Wonder Open Day and all visitors are welcome.

Recycling Re-Opens in Portsmouth
Today, Portsmouth Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) reopened following extensive refurbishment and a £5m refit. Councillor Eleanor Scott of Portsmouth City Council and Gavin Graveson from Veolia Environmental Services unveiled the facility’s new recycling technology.
