 Veolia enjoys ‘Tea at 3’ for Naomi House!

Generous staff from Veolia Environmental Services in Otterbourne held a tea party in aid of charity Naomi House last week, raising over £250. This year, the Hampshire hospice had a target of raising £11,000 from their summer Tea at 3 campaign, so the contribution by staff will help get them closer to meeting it.

An exciting and challenging career option is being trialled by Dave Simpson, a Royal Navy serviceman from Portsmouth. Veolia Environmental Services, which operates the county’s three Energy Recovery Facilities (ERF), including one in Copnor, is snapping up servicemen who have exactly the right background in engineering, operations and maintenance.

 ‘Give it a Grow’ this Compost Awareness Week!

‘Give it a Grow’ is the message from Veolia Environmental Services to mark the tenth annual Compost Awareness Week, which runs from 2-8 May 2010. This year, the nationwide campaign is encouraging us all to try our hand at new composting activities in order to do our bit for the environment.

Local heavyweight boxer Billy Bessey is offering an open night for free coaching on Tuesday 16 February, following a donation of money from employer, Veolia Environmental Services to kit out his gym. Residents normally pay just a few pounds to cover costs, with dedicated sessions for women, men and children.

 Wildlife captured on film arrives at Moors Valley Country Park

An exhibition of stunning shots from the world’s most prestigious wildlife photography competition, Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009, has just opened at Moors Valley Country Park, in Ashley Heath near Ringwood. Rangers at the Park are hoping that this arrival will encourage local photographers to visit, view the exhibition and be inspired to spend some time with their cameras capturing the Park’s own rich and varied wildlife.

 Talking rubbish is the Lord Mayor's cup of tea

Refuse collectors swapped bin bags for glad-rags when they had tea with the Lord Mayor on 21 December.

Veolia Environmental Services operatives who look after the Lord Mayor's streets in the Southsea area were invited to her parlour as a thank-you for all their hard work.
