Our MRF in Alton is the newer of the two in Hampshire, and is the most technologically advanced plant of its kind in Europe. It handles 85,000 tonnes of recyclable waste per year, and works for two 8-hour shifts over 5½  days per week, except after Christmas and Easter, when it works a 3 shift system – this is so it can process the increased amount of recyclable waste that is produced at that time of year.
