Brent Transfer Station

At our depot in Alperton, Veolia Environmental Services houses a waste transfer station which accepts general waste and recycling from collections made in the London Boroughs of Westminster, Camden and Brent, as well as from all of our Greater London commercial contracts and from event days at Wembley Stadium. In all, we handle approximately 170,000 tonnes of materials a year at this transfer station.

Operational 24 hours a day, the transfer station receives co-mingled recycling from the Westminster and Camden contracts: mixed glass, paper, card, textiles, cans and plastics, alongside recyclables from the Brent contract: newspapers and pamphlets, plastics and cans, mixed glass and textiles.

The remainder received at the site is light commercial waste and domestic general waste.

Waste and materials that are not recycled are sent to our own landfill sites in Buckinghamshire, or to our Energy Recovery facility, SELCHP.  Recyclable materials are sent to our materials recovery facility at Greenwich, or to other third party recycling reprocessors.
