Recycling in Bromley is collected on a fortnightly basis and is presented by the residents in boxes provided by the council. Mixed paper and card is collected from the black box and glass, plastic bottles and cans from the green box. We also have a flats recycling collection of paper and glass. On-street recycling banks consisting of paper, glass and cans are also serviced by the contract.
All materials collected on the contract are disposed of at the transfer station which we also operate.
The latest figures from DEFRA show that thanks to the joint efforts of ourselves, Bromley Council and of course the residents of the borough, Bromley has achieved a recycling rate of nearly 32%, making it the second best performing borough in London and also ahead of the national average.

A paid-for green garden waste collection service is also provided by the contract, collecting grass cuttings, leaves, prunings and hedge trimmings, but not rubble, soil, food or household waste or plastic and flower pots. After collection, green waste is taken to a local farm where it is turned into compost.
Green Waste Satellite Sites are operated on a seasonal basis in various locations around the borough on Saturday and Sunday where residents can bring their garden waste for disposal.
