Veolia Environmental Services operates a weekly collection service of household waste from low-rise and high-rise properties throughout the borough, with residents predominately using wheeled bins or bulk containers.
For low-rise properties, the size of wheeled bin supplied is dependent upon the number of occupants in each household:
- 1-2 people: 140 litre (105 x 48 x 56cm)
- 2-4 people: 180 litre (105 x 48 x 73cm)
- 5-6 people: 240 litre (105 x 58 x73cm)
- 7+ people: 340 litre (105 x 62 x 85cm)
Please call Croydon Council’s Environmental Services department on 020 8726 6200 to find out what day of the week your refuse collection is made.
We provide a free bulky waste collection service for items too large to fit into your refuse bin that cannot be reused or recycled and are capable of being handled and loaded onto the collection vehicle by no more than two people.
Additionally, we operate a paid-for collection service of white goods, such as fridges and freezers, televisions and computers, dishwashers, tumble dryers and washing machines.
We aim to provide all residents of Croydon with a reliable and efficient refuse collection service. We have a target for the maximum number of missed bins per 100,000 collections made which we strive to exceed.
Please see below a chart detailing our missed bins per 100,000 collections performance on a monthly basis for 2007.
