Rainham Transfer Station

Our waste transfer station at our Integrated Waste Management Facility in Rainham has the principle purpose of receiving waste in vehicles which are not suitable to tip on the adjacent landfill site for safety reasons. We then facilitate transportation of this tipped waste to the landfill site.

Both household and commercial/industrial waste is accepted at this site, received from local authorities, business traders, industry and from our own Commercial Services and Industrial Services departments.

We also provide a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) for containers, receiving glass bottles and jars, cans and plastic bottles for sorting into separate recyclable streams. This is in addition to our regional comingled MRF and is currently used only by local authorities.

The site is open from Monday to Saturday at 6am each day, closing at 5pm on weekdays and midday on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.
