Local workers clean up the awards

Georgious Gatsopolous, an evening senior foreman for street cleansing in the north of Camden, is the 2007 Employee of the Year for his consistently high level of performance and professionalism, earning rave reviews from Council officers and the public alike.
He said: "It is a lovely feeling to be working with Veolia Environmental Services, especially for moments like this. We all work really well together to give our service to residents and it is a privilege to have been chosen for this award. I want to give special thanks to my managers and to everybody for all their help and support."
Road sweeper in the south of the borough, Jeff Hearn, won the Employee of the Quarter award for July – September after gaining great recognition from residents and Council officers for the way he interacts and promotes good relationships and for keeping the streets and his depot exceptionally clean.
Jeff commented: "I would just like to say thanks to you all. This is what I do and I enjoy doing it. To me, it is a not a competition - we are all a team working towards the same goals. Working on the streets is what I love doing and I am very proud to do this job."
