In February 2010 Veolia Environmental Services was granted planning permission to build an Integrated Waste Management Facility on the Old Kent Road. Construction work on the site has now begun. A newsletter regarding the start of construction work is available here.
A Community Liaison Group has been set up to keep residents and other interested groups informed during the construction phase and give them the chance to find out more about the new facility.
