The London Borough of Wandsworth has a population approaching 280,000 in its 13.2 square miles, making it one of the more densely populated boroughs in the capital.
Putney, Wandsworth, Battersea and parts of Clapham form the northern area of the borough, which sits on the River Thames, while other areas include Roehampton, Southfields, Earlsfield and Balham, with Tooting in the south.
There are several notable landmarks and parks in the borough, including the now disused but iconic Battersea Power Station, Clapham Junction (the largest and busiest railway junction in the UK), Battersea Park, Wandsworth Common, Tooting Bec Common and part of Clapham Common. The River Wandle flows from the Thames through Wandsworth town, dividing the borough into two.
Veolia Environmental Services operates waste collection and recycling services for businesses in the borough. We also provide landscaping and grounds maintenance to the wide range of parks and open spaces in the area, helping make the borough beautiful for residents and visitors alike. |
