Waste Awareness and Education

To be successful at reducing how much waste we create and send to landfill, or to increase recycling it is vital that everyone understands the consequences of creating and managing waste. At the same time people need to know how to take action to be more environmentally friendly. Working in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council and other organisations in the county we will be running lots of initiatives to let householders know the facts about waste.

For more information on Waste Awareness and Education in Nottinghamshire; or to arrange a group visit to one of our Recycling Centres, please contact Amy Roberts, Waste Awareness Officer on 0115 988 2230.

Cities around the World 2008- When Our Cities Tell Their Tale

Cities around the world

Veolia Environmental Services Nottinghamshire is inviting pupils aged 8 – 11 years old and their teachers to partake in this exciting annual international programme, the 5th of its kind.

The programme is a fantastic opportunity for Nottinghamshire schoolchildren to unite with children around the world and learn about the vital importance of living sustainably in the ever-expanding cities of today.

Cities around the World will encourage children to really think about the city they live in, how it can be more sustainable and how it can ‘live’ in harmony with the environment. This cross-curricular campaign has links to geography, science and social responsibility and covers subjects such as pollution, nature, materials, energy, waste and recycling.

We have already had much interest from local schools and media.
