Pitsea landfill site has won a prestigious Gold Occupational Health & Safety Award from RoSPA - the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents - for the third consecutive year.
The site accepts around 800,000 tonnes per annum of waste and employs around 50 staff engaged in a number of operations including composting and landfill gas to energy generation.
Shaun Taylor, the landfill manager said "It is good to know that everyone on this site understands their responsibilities for their own, and their colleagues’ Health and Safety, and that this has been recognised once again by ROSPA.” |
