Employing around 200 staff and contractors with approximately 500 vehicle movements a day, Health & Safety is of paramount importance at Rainham Landfill and the company was delighted that, for the second year running, this location was awarded four Gold Occupational Health & Safety Awards from RoSPA, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
Fred Keeling, the landfill manager, said, “I am very pleased that we are showing a clear lead in ensuring that health, safety and staff welfare is a business priority. This is an extremely busy site with staff involved in a variety of operations. We are delighted that our commitment has again been acknowledged by the Royal Society”.
Set up in 1956, the ‘RoSPAs’ reward excellence in Health and Safety performance and are a recognition of those in private and public sector organisations who are getting the management of Health and Safety issues right in their specific workplace. |
