Veolia ES Sheffield Ltd
In August 2001, Veolia Environmental Services was awarded the waste management contract from Sheffield City Council. As part of this 35 year contract, Veolia Environmental Services is now responsible for:

Maintaining an efficient collection service
Developing recycling facilities (Bring Bank Sites, Household Waste Recycling Centres and working with community groups)
Increasing recycling
Encouraging waste reduction through education and raising awareness
Investigating, operating and developing trial kerbside recycling collections
Operating a Materials Recovery Facility at Beighton to sort waste paper and card before it goes on to be recycled
Constructing and operating an Energy Recovery Facility at Bernard Road to continue electricity and heat generation, improve performance and meet stricter environmental regulations and legislation
Developing the award-winning District Energy Network to allow more buildings to connect to the system
Ensuring safe disposal

Veolia Environmental Services is renowned for its integrated waste management and environmental services to local communities and industry. We provide a range of services including refuse collection, recycling, waste treatment and street cleansing to over 21 million customers from circa 100 Local Authorities in the UK.

We operate a network of landfill sites, materials recovery facilities, transfer stations, civic amenity sites, Energy Recovery facilities and compost sites.
