 Sheffield goes compost crazy!

Veolia Environmental Services helped launch the eighth annual ‘Compost Awareness Week’ this week - an initiative aimed at encouraging people to reduce the amount of waste they send to landfill sites and to start home composting instead. Veolia’s resident composting experts were helping to spread the word in the city centre and show the residents of Sheffield just how easy it is!

Two employees from Veolia Environmental Services in Sheffield have won the prestigious ‘Award for Excellence’ for Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Activity. Waste awareness officer Kate Hodgson and Clare Froggatt, communications manager were recognised nationally at an exclusive award ceremony in Mayfair, London.

 Rainbow Forge School learns the importance of reduce, reuse, recycle!

Veolia Environmental Services’ Waste Awareness Programme has spread its wings to the outskirts of Sheffield and is now delivering weekly Recycling Sessions to Sheffield school children at Whirlow Hall Farm! This week Rainbow Forge School met with James Burgess from Veolia’s Recycling Team, who joined the children on their visit to the farm for some interactive sessions, including a range of hands-on activities which looked at the 3Rs - reduce, reuse and recycle.
