We use 12.5 million tonnes of paper and cardboard every year in the UK. About 60-70% of the waste we generate at work and at school consists of paper and cardboard. Recycling plays a vital role in protecting our environment and conserving our earth’s valuable resources.

Veolia Environmental Services, working with Sheffield City Council, has introduced a service for the collection of paper and card from municipal buildings. This will encourage both waste minimisation and recycling and further improve the Council’s environmental performance.

The paper and card is transported to Veolia’s Materials Recovery Facility where it is sorted and sent to paper manufacturers to be recycled back into paper and cardboard products.
