Did you know?
The blue bin is provided to households
in the city to allow you to separate and store paper
and cardboard for recycling. The contents of the
bin are collected by Veolia Environmental Services
and taken to a Materials Recovery Facility where
they are sorted before being taken to paper manufacturers
to make recycled paper and card.
The blue bin is slightly smaller
than your existing black bin for general household
waste. It is collected from the kerbside every four
weeks. A calendar is provided to tell you when your
collection dates are.
If you find your blue bin is
too small, please contact us on: 0845 355 5515 or
email
us to request an additional
bin. Side waste of paper and card will be taken if neatly bundled with string or placed inside a cardboard box.
Can I have a blue bin
collection?
95% of properties in the city are in a blue bin
collection area. Search
here to find out if you
live in an area where blue bin collections operate.
