In October 2007, Veolia Environmental Services was awarded a 27 year contract by the Shropshire Waste Partnership to provide improved waste and recycling services for residents.

Veolia ES Shropshire is now responsible for managing waste and recycling collections and disposal on behalf of the Partnership in Bridgnorth, Oswestry and North and South Shropshire. Improvements in services and the network of infrastructure is planned, including the introduction of kerbside plastic bottle collections by 2009.

Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council remains responsible for collections in its area.
