New Spring opening hours at recycling centres

24 March 2010

Having a spring clean or tidying the garden? If so, residents in Shropshire are being reminded that there are now extended spring and summer opening hours in operation at Shropshire’s five household recycling centres.

The five centres operated by Veolia Environmental Services on behalf of Shropshire Council are located at: Battlefield Enterprise Park, Shrewsbury; Craven Arms Business Park, Long Lane; Mile Oak Industrial Estate, Oswestry; Barnsley Lane, Bridgnorth and Waymills Industrial Estate, Whitchurch. From now until the end of October each of these centres will open from 9am to 7pm from Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to this the Coder Road recycling centre in Ludlow is open from 12pm - 8pm, Tuesday to Friday, and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays all year round

Donald Macphail, Managing Director of Veolia in Shropshire said: “With the clocks going forward this weekend and the light nights approaching, people are taking the opportunity to have a spring clean. Our aim is to encourage all residents across Shropshire to think about recycling as much as possible using either the kerbside recycling service, using the furniture re-use scheme or taking advantage of the extended opening hours at the Household Recycling Centres. “
