A Sensory Garden for Belgrave Day Centre

Our Portslade office has formed a partnership with the Belgrave Day Centre which provides a day service for adults with learning disabilities who live in the local area. Together with the centre’s staff we are working on plans to transform its backyard into a wheelchair-accessible sensory garden. Thanks to tree surgeons RW Green and fencing company AVS the centre’s old hedge has already been replaced with traditional willow fencing whilst a team of our own staff has helped to dig out the roots and stumps and prepare the ground.

The project is now at design stage, thanks to the help and support of Brighton garden designer Ruth Hill and her company Garden Asylum. Ruth is producing an innovative design for the space, one which will enable the centre’s disabled clients to fully access and enjoy the garden. www.gardenasylum.com
