Waste Transfer Station

Veolia Environmental Services South Downs Limited (formerly Onyx South Downs Limited) has gained planning permission from Brighton & Hove City Council to build a Materials Recovery Facility, a Waste Transfer Station and a Visitor Centre at Hollingdean Lane, Brighton. The facility will sort and bulk Brighton & Hove’s household waste for onward transport to recycling, recovery and disposal facilities. The facility is expected to be operational in 2008.

MRF Timeline

The planning application for this facility was originally submitted in January 2005. After consultation with various statutory consultees and local people Veolia Environmental Services (formerly Onyx) decided to modify and submit a NEW application in March 2006.
