The new Household Waste Recycling Centre, Padworth is open on weekdays between 12.30pm to 6pm and on weekends and Bank Holidays 8am-6pm. The site will be closed on 25 December, 26 December and 1 January.
The new Padworth Recycling Centre collects over 20 different types of materials for recycling including old mobile phones in aid of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, cardboard, wood, broken electrical appliances and garden waste. The site does not accept general household, commercial or food waste.

West Berkshire Council has awarded Veolia Environmental Services (UK) Plc a 25-year integrated PFI waste contract and is targeting a long-term 49% recycling rate as part of a major boost to recycling in the area.
The contract covers the Council’s waste collection, recycling, disposal and street cleansing services. Veolia have introduced kerbside collections of plastic bottles, cardboard and green waste and will construct and operate materials recovery, waste transfer, composting and household waste recycling facilities.
