The event is designed to show how waste from around the district is collected, processed, sorted and composted. Padworth is an integrated facility, which means it handles recyclable, compostable and black bin waste.
During the day visitors can experience:
• A real-time virtual tour of the facility
• Explore the education centre, designed for all ages
• Educational games for younger visitors

West Berkshire Council has awarded Veolia Environmental Services (UK) Plc a 25-year integrated PFI waste contract and is targeting a long-term 49% recycling rate as part of a major boost to recycling in the area.
